The market will be open from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. today at Culver Town Park, weather permitting. A variety of vendors will be onsite with some organic produce, artisan crafts and goodies and a plethora of other items to peruse.

It’s a summer tradition that continues to grow in the Culver area. The Culver Farmer’s Market is set to open for the summer season today.
Fresh, local foods will be featured along with crafts, baked goods, artisan jewelry, honey, plants, popcorn, eggs, jellies and jams, and homemade ice cream.
The Culver Farmer’s Market is open today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The summer operation hours will include Tuesday evenings beginning May 30 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET.

In addition to usual feature of fruits, vegetables and homemade items, members of non-profit organizations are welcome to set up a table/tent to highlight services available to local residents. Entertainers are also welcome to share talents at the Culver Farmer’s Market.
Culver’s former movie theater will be getting some recognition during a series of events this weekend. The 1920s-era theater was most recently known as the Uptown Cinema, before closing in 2012. It was also called the El Rancho Theater, the Lakeside Cinema, and the Palms at other points during its nearly-nine-decade history. Continue reading
