Interstate Investigation Leads to Arrest in Marshall County Copper Theft

A multi-agency, interstate investigation into the theft of two copper wire shipments from a Bremen business has led to an arrest.

Arturas Pivoris, 30, was arrested earlier this month in Illinois when he showed up for a scheduled appointment with the Office of Immigration and Naturalization Services. He was brought to Marshall County last week to face two felony theft charges. Court documents indicate the copper wire, valued at more than $320,000, was stolen from International Wire in Bremen in January of this year.

Pivoris worked for a trucking company hired by International Wire to haul two shipments from Bremen to North Carolina. Investigators believe the company is responsible for numerous thefts of shipments in several states.
