An annual scholarship pageant for girls in Marshall County now has applications available.
The 2015 Miss Blueberry Pageant will take place June 27th at the Argos High School Auditorium. The pageant is held prior to the Marshall County Blueberry Festival which acts as a continuation of a 150th anniversary celebration of Marshall County and honors the areas’ blueberry crop production. That festival will take place Labor Day weekend.
The applications are available at various Marshall County High School offices, at the Blueberry Festival offices, and online. The pageant is open to girls ages 17 to 21.
The theme for this year’s pageant is “Heroes Among Us.” That’s identical to the festival’s theme. Previous press releases have indicated that heroes can include anyone who has had an influence on an individual’s life.
Applications are expected to be postmarked by May 15th.
Those placing in the top three for the pageant will be eligible to win a $2,500 scholarship. Breanna Lemler – who was crowned as last year’s winner – will be present to crown the winner for 2015.
