Sunday Alcohol Sales Bill Could Soon Receive Vote

A bill designed to allow the Sunday sale of alcohol for carry-out could soon be getting a vote.

Indiana is among a dwindling number of states that prevents alcohol sales on Sunday. House Bill 1624 was filed by Republican State Representative Tom Dermody – who’s Public Policy Committee reviewed the measure.

That bill was passed out of committee, but before a vote on the House floor, saw several amendments introduced earlier this month. Each of the amendments was defeated in a vote according to the General Assembly’s website.

Now House Bill 1624 is awaiting a vote, but just when that could take place remains to be seen.

Dermody did not return multiple requests seeking comment.
