Sprint has reimbursed the Marshall County Emergency Management Agency for the interference issue with the county’s telecommunications system. EMA Director Clyde Avery says the $39,000 the FCC ordered Sprint to pay will compensate the county for the reconfiguration of the radios. That has already been done, so Avery sought permission from the Marshall County Council to buy new equipment with the money. They approved his request to buy a repeater system to boost emergency communication in dead spots and a recording system for radio equipment in the emergency operations center.
