Missing Walkerton Man Found in His Home

A Walkerton man who was reported missing earlier this week was found safe in his home today according to the Walkerton Police Department dispatch center.

The Walkerton PD issued a press release on Tuesday, seeking public help finding a missing person. The individual, 25-year-old Robert Allan McEndarfer reportedly hadn’t been seen or heard from since he left work in Napanee on October 19th. The release also stated his phone was found smashed on the side of the road.

As of Thursday, October 26th the search has been called off and McEndarfer is reported to be alive and well.

Walkerton-Lincoln Township Public Library Project is Underway

Walkerton-Lincoln Township Public Library Director Traci Stewart said that ground breaking at the site for the new library took place earlier this month. However, in the next few weeks, construction will become more visible since work below the surface has been completed and now crews can begin working on things above ground.

Stewart said that foundation footings have already been installed, as well as drainage lines and a sewage system. She said this week, construction crews from the Elkhart based company Brown and Brown will be pouring the floors and putting up walls. Continue reading

Usher in Autumn with John Glenn’s Annual Falloween Festival

Autumn is officially upon us and that means that it is once again time for the Falloween Fest at John Glenn High School in Walkerton. This annual festival kicks off today  and runs all weekend. The festival features a variety food and crafts vendors as well as fun activities for the whole family.

The Skerbeck Carnival starts up at 4 p.m. and will stay open until 11 p.m. The craft vendors fair in the auxiliary gymnasium will run from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. The grand parade, sponsored by Walkerton Chamber of Commerce, commences at 5:30 p.m. and will traverse the streets of Walkerton and end at the fairgrounds on Georgia Street.
