Marshall County’s unemployment rate rose to 2.9 percent last month, according to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. That’s three-tenths of a percent higher than the June figure, but lower than last July’s rate of 3.7 percent. The July employment report also shows that Marshall County’s labor force shrunk slightly.
Unemployment Figures Drop in September
The September unemployment report shows Marshall County with a ranking of 46th in the state with a rate of 4.9 percent.
Starke County had a rate of 5.5 percent unemployment in the month of September which matches the U.S. rate. That four-tenths of a percentage drop ranks Starke County 16th in the state.
