Marshall County’s unemployment rate continues to drop. The county posted a rate of three percent for the month of September, according to the latest report from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. That’s down from 3.6 percent in August and 3.3 percent in September of 2016.
Marshall County Unemployment Up from Previous Month, but Still Close to Last Year’s Levels
Marshall County’s unemployment rate is up from the previous month, but still slightly better than the same period a year ago. According to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, the county’s August unemployment rate was 3.6 percent, an increase of 0.7 percent from July.

Unemployment Rates Dropped in February
The February unemployment report looks more favorable than the January report.
The January report released earlier this month indicated an increase in unemployment, where the February numbers showed a decrease in figures in all counties.
Marshall County is ranked 58th in the state with an unemployment rate of 5.5 percent. The county remains one of the lowest in unemployment in the area. The rate was over 6 percent in January.
