A Bremen man was arrested at the Grovertown Truck Stop on U.S. 30 in the early morning hours of Monday, October 14 after Starke County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an initial call of an unwanted man who had reportedly forcefully entered a residence in the 6,000 North block of 1100 E. in Starke County.

A report of a possible burglary reportedly led to the discovery of methamphetamine Sunday morning. Starke County Police say they, along with Hamlet and Walkerton police, responded to a possible burglary in progress call at around 6:30 a.m. Officers say that when they got there, they determined that no burglary took place, but they did find methamphetamine, prescription pills, syringes, and paraphernalia.

A Plymouth man was taken into custody Thursday morning, after allegedly fleeing from police.
Plymouth Police Department K9 Officer John Weir reports that shortly after 8 a.m., he initiated a traffic stop on a gold Honda Accord for an infraction. The driver, 35-year-old Gary Werb reportedly fled the scene in his vehicle. Continue reading
Three people were arrested on drug-related charges Saturday morning in Starke County. Around 9:30 a.m., police from the Starke and Marshall county sheriff’s offices say they went to the 11,000 block of 400 North for a wanted person.
A Plymouth man who tried unsuccessfully to run from police in Starke County is dead following a police-involved shooting. The incident happened around 9:15 a.m. today, according to the Indiana State Police. They were called in to investigate since deputies from the Starke County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Knox City Police Department were involved. Continue reading

A Plymouth man faces a pair of felony offenses in Starke County following the recent robbery and beating of an elderly Knox man. An officer from the Starke County Sheriff’s Office was called to the IU Health Starke Hospital emergency room Wednesday, Oct. 7 after Sisco Wireman was brought in after an apparent assault. Officers from several area law enforcement agencies assisted in the apprehension of a man at a Koontz Lake residence on an out-of-county robbery warrant. They responded to a home in the 7700 block of Tippecanoe Drive this morning to arrest 30-year-old Cody Cooley on a warrant from Dearborn County. A news release from the Starke County Sheriff’s Office indicates they spotted him through a sliding door trying to hide in an upstairs closet. Continue reading
