The Marshall County EMA will leave a few things as they are, but update a few other items in its Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan.
A discussion took place Monday morning when Emergency Management Agency Director Clyde Avery approached the Marshall County Commissioners. Several incidences over the past six months required the preparation of “After-Action” reports.
The bid to complete work for Plymouth’s 2016 Street and Sidewalk Projects was awarded on Monday.
The Plymouth Board of Works considered the recommendation from Street Department Superintendent Jim Marquardt. He says Walsh and Kelly, asphalt contractors out of Griffith, Indiana, submitted the low bid for the project of $349-thousand.

The City of Plymouth has prepared for updates to certain sidewalk sections for 2016.
As part of the Americans with Disabilities Act Transition Plan, project lists are expected to be brought forward on an annual basis. The City of Plymouth’s Street Department updates the sidewalks approved by the Board of Works and constructs sidewalk ramps for wheelchair accessibility.

Is the Town of Culver ready for a sustained emergency event?
That’s the question Marshall County’s EMA Director Clyde Avery wanted members of the Culver Town Council to ask themselves. Avery presented before the Council on Tuesday both to introduce himself to new members, but also to bring Culver up-to-date on what is expected while preparing for possible emergencies.

Marshall County now has a five-year road plan, but it may be a bit of time before funding is found to put it into action.
During this week’s Marshall County Commissioners meeting, the county’s Highway Department re-addressed the plan. Marshall County is currently operating on a two-year chip and seal plan that hopes to maintain road standards for the time being.
