Bremen, John Glenn and Plymouth Marching Bands to Compete in ISSMA Semi-State Competition

Four local high school marching bands will be heading down to Indianapolis tomorrow for the Indiana State School Music Association Open Class Semi-State Marching Band Festival.

Students from Bremen, John Glenn, Knox and Plymouth will join 80 other bands from around the state competing to be chosen as one of the 10 bands who will represent their class at the 45th Annual Indiana State Marching Band Finals.

Each band is entered into a category based on school size and that influences where they perform. Pride of Plymouth Marching Band is led by their director Bryan Ames and they will be competing in Open Class B. Their performance will take place at Pike High School around 2:30 p.m. Continue reading

John Glenn School Board Hires New Band Director

A new leader will guide the John Glenn music department at the high school.

The John Glenn School Board welcomed Nathanael Suddeth to the school corporation Tuesday night as they approved his appointment to the position. He along with four other candidates underwent a rigorous interview process which included administrative team interviews, previous and current choral director input and consulting of the band booster president. Two band students also had a chance to interview the candidates.
