The Plymouth High School Music Department is reporting growth. The school board got an update Tuesday from Band Director Bryan Ames and Orchestra Teacher Jodi Kallenberg.

September Marks the Start of Ancilla Community Choir Rehearsals
The Ancilla Domini Community Choir and Orchestra will be performing Handel’s Messiah this November. However, before they can grace the stage with a completed performance, they have to practice first.
Rehearsals are held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. every Tuesday in September and October except for the 31st, which will be moved to the November first. The choir will have its final two rehearsals on November 7th and 14th before their performance Saturday November 18th. Continue reading
July 4th Holiday Brings Patriotic Carillon Recital
A recital containing a bit of patriotic flair will be held July 4th in Culver.
Culver Military Academies Organist John Gouwens will be presenting the second carillon recital in the summer series. The instrument will be on the tower of Memorial Chapel on the Culver Academies campus.
Plymouth Band Students Qualify for 500 Festival Parade
High school students in Plymouth will be able to use their music skills at a statewide event in May.
According to a press release from the Plymouth Community School Corporation, 12 students will be marching in the Indiana All-Star Marching Band. The ensemble will be performing on Memorial Day weekend in Indianapolis as part of the 500 Festival Parade.
