“Rising Above” Event to Celebrate Togetherness Displayed During Flood Recovery

After historic floods impacted about 250 Marshall County homes in February of last year, many dedicated community members, as well as friendly volunteers from a far, have been actively engaging in the recovery process.

Director of Marshall County Long Term Recovery Operations Linda Yoder shared that more than 800 volunteers worked 21,704 hours in the past 13 months to help local families recover.

Calling all Plumbers, Electricians and Carpenters! Your Help is Needed with Flood Recovery Efforts

While the water may have receded months ago, recovery crews in Marshall County have been working nonstop since the flood hit the area hard, back in February.

Linda Yoder who serves as the Director of Marshall County United Way and the Long-Term Flood Relief Committee shared that right after the flooding, there were 113 homes that needed to be restored. There are now less than 30 homes where work is still needed. Continue reading

Volunteer Case Managers Needed

The Marshall County Long Term Recovery Operation is in search of volunteer case managers.

The case managers will partner with those affected by the flood in Marshall County and set goals and plans to achieve those goals for recovery. The process involves outreach, screening and intake for services, assessment of disaster recovery needs, recovery planning, action and advocacy, monitoring recovery process, and closure.
