Indiana’s March unemployment rate is at its lowest point since 2001, according to state officials. They note the 3.9 percent rate is also well below the national average of 4.5 percent. The unemployment rate reflects the number of unemployed people as a percentage of the labor force. Indiana’s labor force increased by more than 6,000 over the past month, according to Indiana Department of Workforce Development Commissioners Steven J. Braun.
