State Fire Marshal’s Office Assists Marshall County Sheriff’s Department With Suspicious Structure Fire Investigation

Shortly before 3:30 a.m. on Monday, March 12th, the Marshall County Dispatch Center received a call of a structure fire on 6th Road.

The 911 caller indicated that they were driving by when they observed a residence in the 11800 Block of 6th Road on fire. They further stated that it was unknown if there were any occupants inside, according to an official press release from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department. Continue reading

Firefighters Battle House Fire in Plymouth

Firefighters from several area fire departments battled a house fire in Plymouth Monday night.

According to the Plymouth Fire Department’s Facebook page, crews arrived at the scene around 6:43 p.m. and there they found a home on Pearl Street fully engulfed in flames. Crews were there for about eight hours battling the blaze. Strong winds hindered efforts as the fire spread quickly throughout the home.

The Plymouth Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Bremen, Argos, and La Paz Fire Departments and Plymouth EMS.

Elkhart Man Dies in Marshall County Accident

An Elkhart man died as a result of injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident Friday morning, according to a report released by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.

Police say 63-year-old Walter Lee Conner was traveling on U.S. 6 east of Jarrah Road when his van left went off the south side of the road, struck a fence and a mailbox, and continued into a 10-foot ditch. Conner died at the scene due to his injuries, according to police.
