A number of local lakes are set to get some investment, thanks to the latest round of Lake and River Enhancement grants from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Bruce Lake in Fulton and Pulaski counties was awarded more than $32,000 for sediment removal.

Efforts to control invasive vegetation at a few Marshall County-area lakes have gotten a funding boost in the latest round of Lake and River Enhancement grants. The Four Lakes area of Mill Pond, Kreighbaum, Cook, and Holem lakes received $28,400 this year. Koontz Lake got $36,300, while Lake of the Woods was awarded $6,500.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has announced this year’s round of Lake and River Enhancement grants. Almost $633,000 has been awarded to fight invasive aquatic plants in 62 lakes and one river.
