Bids for West Lake Avenue Water Main Extension Project Considered at Plymouth BOW Meeting

Project bids for extension work needed on a West Lake Avenue water main were considered during the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety meeting on Monday. Plymouth Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson mentioned that the original engineer’s estimate for the project was about $187,450.

He also explained what the project will entail, “It’s an 8-inch water main that will go from where the Montgomery Apartments are, across from the hospital, and it will go around the corner and it will serve the Autumn Trace Assisted Living Facility and will dead-end at their west driveway.” Continue reading

Culver Town Council Approves bid for Sand Hill Farms Utilities

The Culver Town Council members took action Tuesday night to move the Sand Hill Farms construction a little further along the process.

Last week, bids were opened for the utilities portion of the project and Midwestern Engineers had the opportunity to review the three bids submitted for the workforce housing development project at 540 W. Jefferson Street. The utilities portion includes the installation of water and sewer lines, a pump station, manhole, a road into the subdivision, curbs and sidewalks, and grading and seeding. The engineers estimate for the project was around $700,000.

Bids Opened for Richter Road Water Main Extension Project

Four bids were received by the Plymouth City Council Monday night for the Richter Road water main extension project.

The lowest bid was submitted by Haskins Underground, Inc. in Plymouth in the amount of $124,605. The highest bid was $257,812 from out of South Bend. The council voted unanimously to take the bids under advisement. They will be reviewed by City Attorney Sean Surrisi, City Engineer Rick Gaul and Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson. A recommendation will be brought before the city council during their next meeting on July 24.
