Three Arrested On Dealing and Possession Charges
Plymouth police made several arrests after a search warrant was executed Thursday afternoon.
In conjunction with the Indiana State Police, Plymouth officers responded to the 900 block of North Michigan Street. Authorities allegedly located what they’re describing as “acid” and cannabis on the scene. The amount of illicit substances located is not known at this time.

Downstate HIV Outbreak Brings Recommendations from Local Health Department
An HIV outbreak in downstate Indiana has state health officials responding.
According to the Indiana State Department of Health, there have been 26 confirmed cases of the disease since mid-December. That same report says those cases find common ground in prescription drug and injection abuse.

Culver Traffic Stop Leads to Officer Struggle, Vehicle Pursuit
Culver Police identified a suspect that led to an arrest after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of a few items believed to be associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine.
The incident happened the evening February 17th on State Road 10 near the Family Dollar store in Culver. Officers say they viewed the vehicle, driven by 27-year-old Lance Walter, to be speeding. A traffic stop was initiated where Walter was subsequently asked to exit the vehicle.

Starke County Ranks First In State for Meth Seizures
A new report says that while seizures of meth labs are up in Indiana, the number of labs is also up in the state.
The publication from Purdue Extension says Indiana saw nearly 1,800 meth lab seizures in 2013, the highest of any state in the country. Data supplied in the report describes the trends in illegal drug use in rural areas and proposes a few solutions to the problem.
