State Releases Breakdown of COVID-19 Cases by Zip Code, More Marshall County Residents Test Positive

Marshall County is reporting another 12 cases of COVID-19. A total of 287 Marshall County residents have tested positive as of Saturday’s report from the Indiana State Department of Health. Starke County had three more cases, bringing the total up to 51, while Pulaski County remains at 52. No new deaths were reported in any of those three counties.

OCRA to Make Another Round of Funding Available for Small Business Help

Indiana is targeting small businesses with the next phase of its COVID-19 Response Program. Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch said Wednesday that the Office of Community and Rural Affairs has finished awarding grants for the “immediate needs” phase, but will start taking applications for the “long-term recovery” phase on Monday.

Indiana Secretary of State Opposes Extending Deadline to Return Mail-In Ballots

Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson is not in favor of extending the deadline for mail-in ballots to make it back to county clerk’s offices, in spite of concerns that thousands of votes could go uncounted. “There are 92 counties in this state, and we cannot change deadlines because somebody is too busy or whether it’s lack of preparation of getting the work done,” Lawson said during state officials’ COVID-19 press conference Friday. “So deadlines are there for security and accountability.”
