The Plymouth School Board last week approved an agreement with Indiana University’s Center on Education and Lifelong Learning (CELL). Under the agreement, CELL will get almost $31,000, but Superintendent Andy Harley said that will be covered by grant funding.

The Culver School Board cleaned up a couple bookkeeping items when it met Monday. Treasurer Casey Howard said that the Special Education Grant wouldn’t be enough to cover costs. She explained that the grant application was turned in before teacher contract negotiations wrapped up and didn’t take into account a pay increase that ended up being included.

Culver School Board to Decide on Referendum Tonight
The Culver School Board is expected to decide tonight whether to put an operating referendum on the November ballot. In an operating referendum, school districts ask voters for permission to raise property taxes up to a certain amount over a period of up to eight years. That money is then used to help fund teacher salaries and educational programs. Continue reading
