
The Marshall County Council is hoping to ensure smooth operations of its court system by updating the elevators inside the courthouse.
The building has a north and a south elevator that is used by court personnel on the third floor and to transport prisoners for hearings. The age of the elevators inside the courthouse is expected to cause difficulty locating parts if there’s a failure, prompting a recommendation for the elevator contractor to replace both.

A Bremen woman reported missing yesterday has been located. Maria Mikel, 50, was found shortly before 4:00 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph County, according to the Bremen Police Department.

Community members can pay their respects to a longtime Plymouth Community School Corporation music teacher this evening. Bob Pickell was killed last Friday when he fell through the attic at his Plymouth home onto the cement garage floor. News of his death shocked the community where he taught music for nearly four decades before retiring this spring.
