Mill Pond Timber Sale Nets Higher Revenue than Estimates
Timber sales were better than expected from the Mill Pond Demonstration Woods.
That’s according to local forester Bruce Wakeland. He has been working with Marshall County to help manage the 35 acre woodland to remove dead trees, invasive plant species, and help funds its management through timber sales.

Marshall County Voters Reject Argos Referendum
Voters in the Argos school district rejected a proposed tax increase for the school corporation’s general fund. Unofficial totals indicate 753 votes in opposition and 534 in support of the measure. It would have raised property taxes by up to 61-cents per $100 of assessed valuation to offset declining state revenues. Continue reading
Plymouth Teen in Critical Condition Following Weekend Crash
The driver in a single-vehicle crash on Sunday in Marshall County has been listed in stable but critical condition.
The incident occurred just before 5:30 a.m. on May 1st when an off-duty South Bend firefighter medic noticed a vehicle off the south side of Veterans Parkway at U.S. 31.
