Plymouth School Board Approves School Calendar, Transfer Student Deadline for 2018-2019
The Plymouth School Board approved the 2018-2019 school calendar when it met Tuesday. Superintendent Andy Hartley said the biggest change is that the school year will start a little later. Students’ first day of class will be August 8, while the last day will be May 31, 2019. Christmas break and spring break will each be two weeks long, while fall break will last one week.

More Narcan Kits Made Available to Local First Responders
First responders in Marshall, Starke, and Pulaski counties will be able to get more Narcan kits. The Indiana State Department of Health has awarded a total of $127,000 to 95 first responder agencies in 34 rural counties. That will cover the cost of nearly 3,400 Narcan kits, training for first responders, and expanding referrals to treatment and recovery options.

A Walkerton man faces drunk driving charges, following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday night. Marshall County Police say the incident was reported shortly before 11:30. When officers arrived, they say they found a heavily damaged white 2001 Chevrolet van in the roadway, but no one was around.
Township Consolidation Bill Advanced by House Committee, Local Officials Express Concerns
A bill that aims to reduce the number of townships in the state will soon be considered by the full Indiana House of Representatives. Under House Bill 1005, townships with a population of less than 1,200 would be required to merge with other townships by 2023. That would impact townships in Marshall, Starke, and Pulaski counties.

The company says residential gas customers now paying $50 per month could expect to see their monthly bill increase to $58.10, rather than $59.80, as originally proposed.
Plymouth Man Among Four Arrested After Police Reportedly Find Meth, Guns in Mishawaka Home
A Plymouth man was among four people arrested yesterday, after Indiana State Police served a search warrant yesterday at a home in Mishawaka. Officers say they found 18 grams of crystal meth, 15 firearms, and four stolen motorcycles. They also reportedly found a 1986 Corvette, a stolen motorcycle frame, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.
