Reinstated Law Requires Drivers to Move Vehicles after Property Damage Crashes

 
 

Indiana drivers will soon be required to move their vehicles out of the roadway after a property damage crash. Starting July 1, if a vehicle involved in an accident comes to a stop in the travel lanes of a public roadway, the driver will be required to move it as soon as possible to a location close to the accident but out of the way of traffic. Tax Scammers Now Targeting Students

scam-alert-150x120The Internal Revenue Service is warning taxpayers about another phone scam, this one targeting students. A caller claiming to be from the IRS demands payment for a “Federal Student Tax,” threatening to report students to the police if they don’t wire money immediately. Not only are these scammers not from the IRS, the “Federal Student Tax” doesn’t even exist. Continue reading

Red Cross Hopes to Boost Summer Blood Donations

Red CrossThe American Red Cross is working to make sure it has a sufficient number of blood donations over the summer months. In a press release, the Red Cross says that summer vacations and activities often mean regular donors are too busy to give blood. They say that during June, July, and August, each Red Cross blood drive is about two donors short of what’s needed to meet patients’ needs. Continue reading

The 21st Leadership Marshall County class was recognized during a graduation ceremony last week in Culver. LMC Chair Valerie Weis said in a statement that the nine-month class aims to bring together community leaders who otherwise may never have interacted, so they can come up with new ways to better Marshall County.
