Thirty-year Sentence for Jamie Howell Dealing and Possessing Methamphetamine

A criminal drug possession case has come to a close with the sentencing of Jamie Howell to a 30-year term for dealing in and possession of methamphetamine.

Judge Tami Napier of Marshall Superior Court No. 1 sentenced to 20 years on the charge of dealing in methamphetamine and 10 years for possession. The sentences run consecutive to each other for a total of 30 years imprisonment in the Indiana Department of Corrections.

The cases were investigated by Detective Sgt. Jonathan Bryant with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and Detective Derek Workman with the Plymouth Police Department. A second case was investigated by the Indiana State Police.

On December 15, 2023, the Defendant was pulled over by Indiana State Police in Plymouth. During that stop, Indiana Police Officers discovered that the Defendant was in possession of 13.4 grams of methamphetamine.

On January 24, 2024, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, along with the Plymouth Police Department, executed a search warrant on 905 S. Michigan Street in Plymouth, leading to the discovery of over 694 grams of methamphetamine.

The Marshall County Prosecutor’s office filed charges against the defendant, Jamie Howell, under two different cause numbers. The cases were handled by Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Nicholas Langowski.

On February 20, this year, the Defendant plead guilty to one count of dealing in methamphetamine as a level 2 felony and one count of possession of methamphetamine as a level 4 felony.
