In the area of U.S. 31 and U.S. 6, officers were able to safely enter the southbound lanes ahead of the vehicle and it came to a stop.
The driver, Dolores M. Hernandez, 47, was found to be under the influence of alcohol, according to the report. Field sobriety testing was completed and a certified test later reportedly showed her to be over two times the legal limit.
She was taken to the Marshall County Jail and processed for preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction and reckless driving.
