On the morning of Jan. 30, at 2:50 a.m. ET, a Plymouth Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on Michigan Street near Veterans Parkway for an equipment violation.
The vehicle registration was suspended and the driver and vehicle owner was identified as Talisha Hampton, 22, of South Bend. Police say Hampton was taken into custody after signs of impairment were identified and a search warrant was obtained and executed.
Hampton was lodged at the Marshall County Jail on three preliminary Class C misdemeanor charges of operating a vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, operating a vehicle with a suspended registration, and operating a vehicle without financial responsibility with a prior conviction.
Suspects are innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
