On the evening of Dec. 21, at 11:35 p.m. ET, Plymouth Police Department officers were dispatched to the Super 8 Motel after receiving reports of an occupied vehicle parked with two suspected intoxicated occupants.
The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Kent Butler, 23 of South Bend, and Yaxely Navarro, 22, of Knox.
Butler was taken into custody for warrants out of St. Joseph County and an additional preliminary criminal charge of public intoxication.
Police say Navarro was further investigated for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Navarro would later in the investigation be found to have a blood alcohol concentration twice the legal limit, according to the report.
Butler and Navarro were both transported and lodged at the Marshall County Jail.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
