On Wednesday, Jan. 8, officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Drug Task Force, assisted by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, located and arrested 46-year-old Nathan Vanderaa of Plymouth near the intersection of Walnut Street and Madison Street.
Vanderaa was the target of an investigation by MCDTF, which resulted in the issuance of a warrant for his arrest on a charge of dealing in methamphetamine as a Level 4 Felony. He is currently being held on a $250,000 cash bond.
The allegations contained in the probable cause affidavit are alleged to have occurred while Vanderaa was free on a $50,000 cash bond he previously posted on a pending charge of Dealing in Methamphetamine filed in June 2024 in Marshall Superior Court 1. It has been previously reported that Vanderaa had a short stint as an Indiana State Police officer.
Lead Detective, Det. Sgt. Jonathan Bryant commends the cooperative efforts of all law enforcement agencies involved.
“I am grateful for the work of the Marshall County Drug Task Force,” said Prosecuting Attorney Nelson Chipman. “Det. Sgt. Bryant and the collaborative efforts of the officers from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department that safely conducted this operation resulting in the arrest.”
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
