On Jan. 12 at 5:21 p.m. ET, officers with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was speeding on Hoham Drive and Western Ave. going 46 mph in a 35-mph zone.
The vehicle pulled over in the Key Bank Parking lot where the traffic stop was conducted. During the traffic stop, the odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle, according to the report. Plymouth K9 officer and his partner Castor were called to the scene for a free air sniff. Police say it was determined the driver, identified as Nathan Carver, 32, of Plymouth, had been drinking alcohol.
Carver was detained and transported to Plymouth Hospital for a certified blood test that reportedly showed a blood alcohol content of .141.
Carver was transported to Marshall County Jail where he was booked in on a preliminary felony charge of driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction, and a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated endangerment.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
