Driving while Impaired

On the evening of Saturday, Jan. 18, at 7:30 p.m. ET, Plymouth Police Department officers received multiple reports of what was believed to be an impaired driver near the intersection of Oak Rd and Jefferson St.

Plymouth officers were able to locate the vehicle and observe driving behavior to conduct a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Richard Urbina, 43, of Plymouth. Officers were able to detect a strong odor of alcohol when speaking to Urbina, according to the report.

Police say standardized field sobriety tests were performed, and failed. Urbina reportedly consented to a chemical test. He was found to have a blood alcohol content level of .110, according to the report.

Urbina was lodged in the Marshall County Jail and booked on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, endangering, and neglect of a dependent.

Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
