It was a light agenda for the Triton School board in their regular monthly meeting on Monday, December 9.
The board held a public hearing on the contract for Superintendent Jeremy Riffle. There was no comment from patrons and the board unanimously approved that contract.
Most of the rest of the meeting addressed buses and tennis courts.
Riffle asked the board to approve the purchase of a 14-passenger activity bus for the cost of just over $108,000, which was approved by the board. Board members asked about the regular sized bus that the corporation currently has on order and they were informed that they are still waiting on the vehicle and that early spring was projected as the delivery date.
Riffle asked the board to table a discussion about repair to the school’s tennis courts. The courts will have cracks sealed and be re-painted.
Riffle asked for more time to solicit more bids for the project to be sure of the credentials of the company doing the work, seeking bids from companies that specialize in the repairs.
He told the board that the new courts would be the ones that received the most attention with five older courts being repainted to match the others. He told the board that they didn’t have the $100,000 that it would take for the repair of those courts.
