K9 Assist in Traffic Stop

A Plymouth Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle traveling 70 mph in a posted 50 mph zone on U.S. 30 near Pioneer Drive Tuesday, December 3 at 12:15 a.m. ET.


The driver was identified as Pedro Hernandez-Hernandez, 36, of Ft. Wayne. Hernandez was found to have never been issued a license and was taken into custody


During the traffic stop, Plymouth’s K9 Castor assisted. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and police say more than a dozen fraudulent identification and social security cards were found. After furthering the investigation, two additional passengers were identified and taken into custody, Pascual Perez-Ruiz, age 34, and Juan Diaz-Perez also 34, both of Ft. Wayne.


All three subjects were lodged at the Marshall County Jail on preliminary criminal charges of felony fraud, forgery/counterfeiting, and misdemeanor possession of a false government identification card. Hernandez has an additional misdemeanor charge of operator never licensed.

Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
