Collision Leads to Arrest

On Tuesday,​ Dec. 24,​ at 7:44 p.m. ET,​ Marshall County Central Dispatch received a call regarding a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 6 and Dogwood Road.

The caller advised they were unsure if there were any injuries.

When Officers arrived,​ it was learned that a 2022 Honda Pilot driven by Sierra Vandekeere, 35, of Osceola, was eastbound on U.S. 6 when a southbound 2012 Honda CRV ​driven by Delia Varela-Murillo,​ 21, of Warsaw,​ failed to yield to eastbound traffic and pulled out and collided with the Honda Pilot.

Three occupants inside the Honda Pilot were transported to the Bremen Hospital to be checked out for non-life-threatening injuries. During the investigation, no record of a valid driver’s ​license could be found for ​Delia Varela-Murillo. ​A ​formal report will be sent to the Marshall County ​Prosecutor’s Office. ​

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Bremen Police Department,​ Bremen Fire Department,​ and Bremen EMS..

Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
