Plymouth Council Takes Care of Several Issues

Among some larger issues the Plymouth Common Council also addressed some smaller points of business in their regular meeting.

Among those:

— The Council unanimously approved additional appropriations, one for an AIP Reimbursement Grant on the corner of Lynn Street of $13,200, and another for $129,030 for the Greenway Trail.

— The Plymouth Plan Commission had approved an amendment to the zoning map for a property on Broadway on Plymouth’s west side.
The area in question is zoned industrial, and the request was to change that zoning to R3, which is traditional residential. There is a mix of industrial and residential properties in the area, and in the current comprehensive plan, the area is listed as a “transitional zone” between the two.
There is a potential buyer for the property who would like to construct a home on the site if the proper zoning could be attained.
The Council again voted 7-0 in favor.

— Discussion of amending the current year’s salary ordinance was brought up as a result of the hiring of Ty Adley as the new full-time Plymouth Plan Director.
The position was added to the budget and salary ordinance for 2025, but the desire of the City Administration is that Adley start on Dec. 1 to allow him time to transition into the position with the help of current Plymouth Plan Director Ralph Booker. Adley’s salary during the transition period would have to be added to the 2024 salary ordinance.
The Council was again unanimous in support.
