Officers with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling South on Michigan Road from Veterans Parkway Sunday, November 17 at 4:34 p.m. ET.
The officer was able to run the vehicle plate to get a picture of the registered owner. The driver and owner of the vehicle came back suspended. The vehicle pulled into the McDonald’s parking lot.
Police say the driver admitted to smoking marijuana while driving to work. A field sobriety test was conducted, and a warrant was obtained for a blood draw. The driver was identified as Princess Aries Neya Watkins, 39, of South Bend.
Watkins was arrested and transported to Marshall County Jail and booked in on preliminary charges of driving while suspended with a prior conviction and operating a vehicle while intoxicated under the influence of marijuana.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
