Plymouth Police Department officers were notified of a license plate recognition hit on a vehicle Wednesday, October 23 just before 11 p.m. ET. The LPR notification advised that the registered owner of the vehicle had an outstanding warrant from Elkhart County. The vehicle was located near the intersection of U.S. 30 and Queen Road.
Plymouth officers made contact with the occupant and identified her as Tamara McGuire, 53, of Nappanee. McGuire was taken into custody for the active warrant and was transported to the Marshall County Jail. While being processed into the jail, it was discovered that McGuire had narcotic paraphernalia hidden within her body, according to the report.
McGuire was booked into the Marshall County Jail for pending charges of possession of paraphernalia and trafficking with an inmate. McGuire is also being held for the active warrant in Elkhart County.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
