Marshall County Deputies were dispatched to 7910 U.S. 6 Access Road in Bremen for an unknown accident Sunday, Oct. 6 at 4:11 a.m.E T. Bremen Officers arrived first on the scene and advised that the vehicle struck a guardrail and that no one was around the vehicle.
Police say the driver who had fled the scene was later found in the town of Bremen by Bremen officers and was identified as 26-year-old Jose E. Murillo, of South Bend. An investigation was conducted, and it was found that Murillo was intoxicated,according to the report.
He was then transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and possession of paraphernalia.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
