A Traffic Stop Brings Arrest

Officers with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding 54 mph in a 35-mph zone Saturday, October 26 at 8:29 p.m. ET.


The driver was identified as Marcellous Boyd, 21, of Cordova, TN. While talking to the driver, officers reportedly got a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.


Police say K9 Castor had a positive alert on the vehicle, and a search was conducted. Marijuana was located with a total weight of 50.3 grams, according to the report.

Boyd was transported to the Marshall County Jail, and booked in on a preliminary charge of possession of marijuana.

Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
