Plymouth Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of Liberty Street and Pennsylvania Avenue Friday, September 13 in regards to a suspicious vehicle.
Upon arrival, Plymouth officers immediately detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle and removed the individuals from the vehicle, according to the report. The driver, identified as 21-year-old Jhakare Thornton, was detained. Police say it was discovered that Thornton had met with two minors via Snapchat to smoke marijuana together.
Thornton was reportedly found to have a loaded firearm, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana.
Police say one of the minors had to be transported to the hospital because of the effects of the drug.
Thornton was taken into custody and transported to Marshall County Jail where he was lodged on preliminary charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
