The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department obtained information Thursday, August 1 that an unknown man had purchased items from a LaPaz business and paid with one dollar silver coins. It was later found that the silver coins were counterfeit coins.
A Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputy identified the person allegedly involved as 62-year-old Joseph B. Daigle of LaPaz.
A case report was completed and forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office for review. An arrest warrant was issued for Daigle. The deputy went to the suspect’s address Tuesday, September 17 and arrested, transported, and booked Daigle into the Marshall County Jail.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
