Officers with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop Monday, July 29 at 9:12 p.m. ET on a vehicle that reportedly disregarded the red light at Michigan Street and Hoham Drive.
The driver was later identified as Maria Avila, 24, of Bremen. During the investigation of the traffic stop, police say it was determined that Avila had never had a license and that she had a warrant out of Kosciusko County for theft.
Avila was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail, and booked on a preliminary charge of operator who was never licensed and for the warrant.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
