Officers with the Plymouth Police Department were called to the area of Gilmore Street Tuesday, August 13 for a report of a theft.
While on scene officers were made aware of a battery that had also occurred in which 22-year-old Shaylynne Paguada of Plymouth was identified as the alleged suspect.
While conducting a separate investigation, a Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputy came across 20-year-old Fernando Ramirez of Plymouth. Police say Ramirez matched the description of a suspicious person and repeatedly interfered with the officer’s investigation.
Ramirez is also known to be in a relationship with Paguada, who was located in the 300 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue, according to the report.
Plymouth Police took Paguada into custody and transported her to the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of theft and battery. Marshall County Police took Ramirez into custody and transported him to the Marshall County Jail on a preliminary charge of obstruction of justice.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
