A Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputy stopped a beige Mercury for speeding on U.S. 30 east of Michigan Road Monday, August 19 at 7:08 p.m. ET.
During the time of the traffic stop, officers located marijuana and paraphernalia. The driver, Brien King, 26, of South Bend, also reportedly had in his possession narcotic pills for which he had no prescription.
He was placed into custody and taken to the Marshall County Jail. King was also cited for speeding, expired license plates, and no insurance.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
