A Plymouth Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on Jefferson Street near Beerenbrook Street Saturday, August 3 at 11:20 p.m. ET for an equipment and moving violation.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as Scott Pearish, 60, of Walkerton. During the traffic stop, K9 Castor assisted and alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Upon completing a vehicle search, police say suspected methamphetamine and marijuana were located in addition to paraphernalia.
Pearish was suspected of being impaired and was transported to the hospital for further testing, according to the report. Pearish was taken into custody and lodged at the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, operating while intoxicated on a controlled substance, and possession of synthetic urine.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
