Plymouth Police Department Makes Arrests

Officers from the Plymouth Police Department recently made two arrests.

Officers responded to the area of 217 Williams Street Tuesday, August 13 at 3 a.m. ET for reports of a suspicious man.


Marshall County Central Dispatch advised officers that the resident, 32-year old Shaquana Davis, had an outstanding arrest warrant. Davis was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail.

In a separate incident, officers conducted a traffic stop in the gas station parking lot of Walmart at 2301 N. Oak Drive Monday, August 12 at 9:50 p.m. ET on a vehicle with suspected false and fictitious plates.


The driver was identified as 42-year-old John Matlock, of Newport, Arkansas. The passenger was identified as 42-year-old Brandy Varga, of Plymouth.


Police say Matlock was found to have a suspended and expired driver’s license out of Arkansas while Varga was found to have outstanding felony warrants for her arrest in Elkhart County.


Matlock was taken into custody on a preliminary charge of driving while suspended and operating without financial responsibility. Varga was also taken into custody and lodged at the Marshall County Jail for the outstanding arrest warrants.

Formal charges will be determined in each case by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
