Two people were arrested in separate incidents where drivers were allegedly not licensed.
Officers with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop Monday, July 29 at 1:43 a.m ET on U.S. 30 and Pioneer Drive for a car driving 75 mph in a 50-mph zone,according to the report.
The driver was identified as Vera Chalen Dimas, 50, of Chicago. During the traffic stop, police say it was determined that Dimas only had a temporary visitor license out of Chicago and had never had a driver’s license.
Dimas was arrested on a preliminary charge of being an operator who never had a license and was transported to Marshall County Jail.
Additionally, on the morning of August 1, at approximately 1:40 a.m. ET, Plymouth Police Department officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a license violation.
During the traffic stop the driver, Walter R. Escobar, 40, of Fort Wayne, was reportedly found to have never been issued a driver’s license with a prior conviction and a status of suspended.
Escobar was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail pending two misdemeanor charges of operating without ever receiving a license with a prior conviction and operating with a suspended license with a prior conviction.
Formal charges in each case will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
