A Marshall County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Deputy conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle near U.S. 31 and State Road 110 Wednesday, July 10 at 2:30 p.m. ET.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 49-year-old Corey Dawson of South Bend. Police say Dawson was found to be driving while suspended with a prior conviction. During the traffic stop, suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia were located on Dawson’s person, the passenger’s person, and inside the vehicle.
Dawson was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on preliminary charges of driving while suspended with a prior conviction, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
