Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputies Make Arrests

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department has responded to several calls over the last week that have resulted in several arrests.

Marshall County Central Dispatch was advised of a disagreement between two neighbors Wednesday, July 3 just after 4 a.m. ET.

Benjamin Jessup

While investigating the reason for the disagreement, officers learned that one of the people allegedly involved, Benjamin Jessup, 37, may have struck a utility pole and left the area. Police say it was also determined that Jessup had been drinking.

Jessup was transported to the hospital where he submitted to chemical testing. The results from the test reportedly revealed a BAC over twice the legal limit. Benjamin was transported to the Marshall County Jail.

Killian Hilliard

Additionally, deputies conducted a traffic stop at U.S. 30 and Oak Road Friday, July 5. While conducting the traffic stop, deputies were able to identify the passenger as the owner of the vehicle and who had a current protection order against the driver of the vehicle, Killian Hilliard. Hilliard was taken into custody for a preliminary charge of invasion of privacy.

Eugene Cecconi

In another case, deputies were called to the parking lot of the Swan Lake Golf Course Saturday, July 6 at 6:47 p.m. ET for a physical domestic dispute. After investigating and talking to witnesses, the suspect, Eugene Cecconi, 61, was taken into custody on a preliminary charge of domestic battery.

Darious Easton

Lastly, deputies conducted a traffic stop Sunday, July 7 at 3:25 a.m. ET and the driver was reportedly found to have a suspended license. The driver called for someone to pick up the vehicle and the driver. When the second vehicle arrived on the scene deputies were able to identify the passenger in that vehicle to be a party with an active protection order against the driver of the initial traffic stop.

As a result, Darious Easton, 38, was taken into custody on a preliminary charge of invasion of privacy.

Formal charges will be determined in each case by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
