Plymouth Police Department officers were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of William St. for a possible domestic altercation Sunday, July 14 at 1:30 a.m. ET.
Police say the female caller stated that her boyfriend was irate and that she had locked herself and her children in an upstairs bedroom out of fear.
Plymouth Police Department officers, as well as officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department arrived on scene. The female caller did not know where the male was and said that he had access to weapons, and did not feel safe leaving the room.
Officers were given permission by the female to forcefully enter the residence.
After doing so, Austin Norman, 32, of Plymouth, was detained by officers.
Norman was placed under arrest and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked on a preliminary charge of intimidation.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
